Okay, for those of you NOT of the teeny-bop set...this should ring a few bells... =)

When GHOSTBUSTERS first hit the theatres, I must admit that I was in high school...and "The THING" to do at that time was go to the show and see it EVERY freaking weekend! LOL!
.
Yes, yes...those were the days of Beta VCR's, Atari, Commodore-64's, SEGA, Jelly Sandals, Pouf hemlines, Neon clothes, Swatch Watches, 90210...there were only 2 STAR TREK series thus far--the original and the Next Generation... and Synthesized music was all the rage. ;)

It was NOT all that long ago! ... ('Er, or at least it seems that way to me!)
.
We all did NOT have cell phones, there WAS NO MySpace, no Internet, and "LOL" was a totally unheard of fabrication...
.
Oh, yeah...and gas was like 85-cents a gallon!
.
I repeat: I am NOT that flippin' old! ...Technology and the times have just zipped-along at blazing speeds here!
.
So, anyway...the big "thing" at that time was to go see GHOSTBUSTERS at the show every weekend...and it was at the "Dollar Show" ...
.
( >eye-roll<... yeah, yeah...don't even start on me about that one! ;) ...
.
As I was saying, it was at the "Dollar Show" for like 14 weeks, or something like that...So, I do believe I saw it AT LEAST 20 times...and at about the 15th viewing, even I was getting a tad bit sick of it.
.
However, it was a GREAT flick...and had an awesome soundtrack! =)
.
For some reason, the song "Magic" popped into my head tonight when I was treadmilling my ass off, while watching "Sex and the City" reruns on TBS...(what can I say?...I am a creature of habit, that's for sure!)
.
Anyway, I thought to see if I could find that song on MySpace Music, and...BAM!...There it was! :O ...
.
Shocking, I must say...I cannot believe the obscure pieces of crap I am able to dig up on MySpace Music.
.
I would have never dreamed that someone would have actually posted that song to the catalogue! Bizarre, to be sure.
.
It just amazes me the weird shit that is posted to MySpace Music...and then I have a hard time finding "normal", POPULAR stuff sometimes!
.
So...back to GHOSTBUSTERS! ;) ...
.
I am thinking that MOST of you who are NOT young dip-shits, probably have your own great memories of that movie...where you were when you saw it...whom you were with...etc., etc.
.
As far as the movie itself...simply fabulous! =)

Okay, so it was not an Academy Award type film...it was still totally killer...and you know I am right. :)
.
Who can forget "ZULE!"...or when Sigourney Weaver was possessed by a demon, and was floating above her bed in that red dress?
.
That is about the point in the movie when the song "Magic"--(by Mick Smiley)--began playing...and when all of the demons and ghosts were released from the containment thingey, and started zipping around the city.
.
It's just a techno piece...and sounded MUCH better in the THX sound system at the theatre!
.
However, I am currently grooving to it. =)

Ok, Snow. So I must be an old dip... ***. I remember Ghost Busters, of course; but it was my oldest kids who wanted to see it over and over. I didn't like it (see?). AND, btw, I actually already knew the words to "Dragging the Line" ! Can you imagine that?
What I DO think is weird, however, is that we adults believed that most things would work out fair / good / just / or ok if we would just all relax and appreciate the sunshine.
It wasn't until I raised one of those intense little competitive guys who worked (read "fought / struggled") his way through college, grad school and med school to save lives - even those of children too young to smell flowers yet - that I realized that there's something to be said for those guys too.
Just a political side note. I love your blogs, by the way. I'm only commenting on how small of a view we had (and probably still do!) :-)
